Social Skills Is Canceled:
A Story for Kids with Autism, ADHD, and Anxiety
Coming July 30, International Day of Friendship!
Â
When social skills class is unexpectedly canceled, three very different students from different social skills groups find themselves in the same room together.
While the initial interactions between Circle, Triangle, and Square are awkward due to their individual quirks, they decide to work toward having a conversation together. They open up about their individual struggles, noticing they share similar challenges when it comes to making friends.Â
Spending time as a group helps them realize they each have things to teach each other and things to learn from each other. Over the next several days, they practice what they learned with other students in the school cafeteria.
But what happens next week when social skills isn’t canceled, and Circle, Triangle, and Square must go back to their separate groups?
Â
Created for neurodivergent kids age 10-17, this uplifting story highlights the journey of three students as they navigate their shared social challenges, ultimately finding strength in their similarities and the courage to advocate for themselves.Â
