Hi, I'm Stephanie West, founder and director of Starfish Social Club. I have worked with students with social learning challenges as a special education teacher, behavior specialist, special education administrator, and school administrator. I have also served as a Head of Delegation, basketball, and track coach for a Special Olympics team. I hold masters’ degrees in Special Education and Education Administration, and specialist certifications in autism, behavior, inclusion, and traumatic brain injury. I am also a SAMA facilitator and a certified Kidding Around Yoga teacher!
Starfish Social Club was created to serve two purposes: 1) to provide a safe place for kids to learn and practice new skills with peers who are similar to themselves, and 2) to provide a place for kids to hang out with other kids who get them! Everyone deserves a place to belong!
Hello, my name is Ramiro Moreno! I have a huge passion for helping those in the special needs community reach their maximum potential and live life to the fullest. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation and have 6 years of experience working at adaptive summer camps and in adaptive recreational programs.
I love music and going to concerts, spending time outdoors, and of course, football! I'm beyond excited to teach all students at Starfish Social Club how to improve their social skills and build friendships in a fun, welcoming environment!
Hi, I'm Molly! I'm 14 years old and belong to Ms. Stephanie. I am a bit obsessed with her so I'm so glad I get to hang out at Starfish with her and the kids! I have anxiety and don't like other dogs, loud noises, or flashing lights, but I love cats and people! I feel like I have some things in common with the kids and we can help each other stay calm. In my younger days I used to run half-marathons with Ms. Stephanie. Even in my old age I am still pretty energetic!
